Body, Technology and Experience: Ways to Encounter the World With Ricardo O'Nascimento

Today in the context of DXARTS 472 Mechatronic Art, Design and Fabrication II we had a virtual artist talk by fashiontech expert Ricardo O’Nascimento entitled Body, Technology and Experience: Ways to Encounter the World.

Ricardo O'Nascimento is a fusionist artist, designer, writer, and lecturer. He investigates body-environment relations focused on interface development for worn devices, interactive installations, and hybrid environments. He is interested in a multidisciplinary approach to create new means of communication among living beings and experiences that challenge and enhance human perception. 

He holds a degree from PUC - SP (Brazil), SENAC - SP (Brazil), and the University of Arts and Industrial Design Linz (Austria) at the Interface Culture Department. Currently, he is a PhD candidate at Loughborough University (UK), where he investigates opportunities of wearable haptics.

With this experience, Ricardo continuously attends universities and events throughout the globe for guest lectures and workshops. His teaching experience includes a guest lecturer at Kunst Universität Linz (Austria), Ludwig MaximilianUniversity of Munich (Germany),  ESDEMGA in Pontevedra (Spain), IED – Madrid (Spain), and São Paulo (Brazil), and Willem de Koning Academie in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). He is the author of the book entitled "Roupas Inteligentes: combinando moda e tecnologia".
